Indochina Day 36 : Minivan from Phonsavan to Luang Prabang - Luang Prabang Night Market

0700 - Woke up and checked out. The temperature outside is just 8C which is so cold that I can see the fog when I breath. Having the sandwish at the nearby bakery and hot cup of coffee. Walked to the Minivan station at the market. The van is already there and we get on it first. This time the van had many travelers. This driver also used up all the space in the van to put the backpacks, luggages and their courier packages.

The seat is quite comfortable

The van departed late 20 minutes as the departure time should be 8:30am. The journey to the Luang Prabang is also curvy and hilly road. The scenery is still amazing. The van stopped once for the lunch at 1pm. We just had our bought bread as lunch and hence didn't had any proper lunch. I also asked for the price of an apple which cost 4,000kip. I also asked another stall and it cost 5,000kip, more expensive!

1600 - Reached Luang Prabang. The van stopped at the Minivan Tourist Bus Station near the southern bus station. This station is 3km away from the center. Walking will be very tiring. Hence, we decided to take the tuk-tuk but the tuk-tuk driver offer us the traveler with a fee of 20,000kip/person. But we insisted that there is quoted price at the counter ticket which is 10,000kip/person. After bargain for awhile, we finally paid 10,000kip/person to go to the center.

The tuk-tuk dropped us near the east entrance of the night market. We walked to our booked dorm at the City Backpackers Hostel. When we walking there, the local is started to setting up their night market stalls. After reached the hostel, we hardly find this hostel as it is inside a small alley where the Blue Lagoon restaurant located.

After left the backpack, we walking around the night market to find some snack to eat first. Then loitering at the area there. After that, had the dinner at one of the local stall. At last, we walked around the night market. This night market sell a lot of handicraft souvenirs like clothes, scarf, bag etc.
