Indochina Day 27 Don Khon : Tad Khone Pa Soi Waterfall - Tad Somphamit Waterfall

After having the breakfast at the guesthouse, we rented the bicycles to cycling to Don Khon. When passing the french bridge there is no people collecting the entrance fee, Hence, we continued moving towards the waterfalls. The first waterfall that we went to is Tad Khone Pa Soi Waterfall which is a very local waterfall that is around 3km from the bridge. We took the Don Khon middle road which is very rocky. It is hard to cycle and sometimes need to get down and push the bike.

Rocky route

Once we reached the waterfall. There are no entrance fee for this waterfall and accept donation only. After get over a old suspension bridge and walked through the forest by following the path, we saw the big waterfall. There is no other tourist here. However, we can't see much of the waterfall as we stand by the river bank and the view is blocked by the big rock.

After we left that waterfall, we cycled to the Don Khon center via the riverside path. This path is more sandy compare to the middle road. But sandy path is hard to cycle too. We rest at the restaurant in Don Khon for having some iced fruit shake to avoid the hot sun. We didn't eat any lunch as we were still full since the breakfast.

After rest enough, we cycled to the Tad Somphamit Waterfall. The path is not rocky and not sandy. Hence, it is much more easy to cycle there. However, there are many tourists sitting on the trucks. When these trucks passed through us, the sand flied all over the air and make us hard to breath. This is bad for this island as we didn't see any 4 wheel vehicle on these islands.

As we reached the entrance of the Tad Somphamit Waterfall, we paid the entrance fee of LAK35k(USD4.5)/person. The entrance fee is quite expensive and hence we stayed here for very long. This entrance also include the Li Phi waterfall which is further west of the Tad Somphamit waterfall. We viewed the waterfalls and walk the way down to a bungalow that is free to used. We also rest there for awhile. We left the waterfall before sunset.

Then we cycled back to the guesthouse via the riverside path of the Don Det. We stopped at the Mama Leua restaurant for having dinner. This meal is a bit expensive than other place but it is nicer than we ate in our guesthouse's restaurant. After that, we back room and rest.
