Indochina Day 32 : Bus from Vientiane to Vang Vieng

After having included breakfast at the hotel, we checked out and waited for the person that I booked the bus to Vang Vieng at a travel agency called Adina Transport yesterday. This bus included free pick up service from the hotel by tuk-tuk. The pick up time they said is 9:3-10:00am. However, the person pick us up at 10:15am. It was a songthaw that full of travellers. Both of us are the last one to get on the songthaw, hence we hardly to find the seat. My gf able to seat after the travellers give a place while i sitting at the middle of the rear entrance with my backpack at the roof top. It is just 10 minutes drive to the bus location. It was not a bus station but just a AC bus stop at the road side. We faster get on it and get a good seat.

The bus departed at 10:20am. The journey took around 4.5 hours to reach Vang Vieng with one stop for lunch. Even tough the distance between Vientiane and Vang Vieng is 160km, the bus travelled at 60km/h and hence took quite a long time. The road condition is not that smooth too.

1430 - Reached the Vang Vieng Souther Bus station. This bus company provide the free pick up to the hotel. Since our booked hostel is must southern than the bus, we chose to walk which is 15 minutes walk. We stayed dorm at the Outland Hostel. This 10 beds dorm room is very unique that 6 of the beds is partition with 2 bed in each room while other 4 beds is at outside. We are lucky that we stayed at a 2 beds partition room.

After that, we had lunch at the A.M.D Restaurant which ranked no. 1 in tripadvisor cheap eat categories. The food in Vang Vieng is much expensive than Vientiane. A normal rice noodle soup cost 15,000kip!

After that, we just walked around the town.
