Philippines Day 11 : Puka Shell Beach and Tambisaan Beach

0900 – Walked around the White Beach area to find the snorkel rental shop. We couldn’t find one as the shop may closed as today was the All Saints Day. Then we decided to go to the beach and find.
Getting around in Boracay with budget have only one option which is taking the tricycles. There are two types of tricycles, one is normal type tricycles while other is the electrical type that design like motortrikes. After took so many tricycles, we think that the normal type tricycle is cheaper than the electrical type. At the main road at Station 1, we just waited for a tricycle that is less people. Mostly the tricycle will stop and asked where you go. Finally, we waited for a tricycle that is less people and charge us PHP50/person to go to the Puka Beach. Along the road, there were flood at certain road that until knee level. The tricycles going through the flood were like driving a boat.

1000 – Reached the Puka Beach. There are few souvenir shops mainly selling the shell related souvenir as here is famous of shell beach. Hence, the sand is not that fine. There are lot of shell on the beach which are eroded and become rounded shape. The seawater is also clear but the wave is very strong today. But I still can snorkelled and playing the water.

There are few vendors in Puka Beach

Is really a lot of shells

Many shell souvenirs

1130 – Leaving the Puka Beach. The tricycle fare that they charged us at the entrance of the Puka Beach is PHP150 for two person which is expensive for us. Hence, we just walked away towards the center and think that we could get a cheap tricycle ride along the route. But there was not much tricycle moving on this road. Until we walked to the Yapak Elementary School, there was a electrical motortrikes. First, the driver said PHP150 for two person. After we started to walk away, then he offered us PHP100 for two person to go to Station 2.

1230 – At the station 2, we had the lunch in Andok fast food restaurant again. After that we wanted to walked to the Tambisaan beach which is 3km distance. After leaving the white beach at station 3, there is a steep uphill that is so tiring. Hence, we took a tricycle after reached the main road (PHP50/person).

1400 – Reached the Tambisaan beach. There was no souvenir shops and no tourists. There are local only that playing in the seawater. We couldn’t find any snorkel rental shop here. Hence, I just used mine to snorkel while my girlfriend waiting on the beach. Firstly, I saw a lot of blue starfish but there is no coral. After snorkel for a while, I found a place there is few beautiful and colourful corals and there are a lot of fishs. After that, I saw two clownfishs which was near to me and stayed there for a while. I was amazing that I can view this medium size clownfish (Around 10cm long) with my own eyes! After take the video with them, they swam away fast. I few so happy that wanted to share with my girlfriend. But after the second time snorkelling, I couldn’t find them anymore. However, I still can saw some orange with one white stripe fish near the corals which I think is clownfish type family. Other than clownfish, there are many other types of fish. I was so satisfying to snorkel there. This beach is absolutely a snorkelling beach.
Tambisaan Beach, only local here

Big blue star fish!

Two clownfishs found me!

1530 – Leave the beach but there is no tricycle on the road. Hence, we just walk first. Then a motorcycle rider approach us and asked where we wanted to go. He offered us PHP100 for two person to go to the Station 2. I think this fee is very huge profit for them. But we don’t have choice as there have no much transport to go back there.

1600 – Reached the Station 2. Then we walked along the White beach beach path to buy some souvenir and dried mango. We walked until the Jonah’s fruitshake and bought two fruit shake to try. They were very nice but a bit expensive. After that, we were just playing on the beach.
Peanut chocolate banana shake and mango milk shake, each PHP130

1830 – After bathed at the hostel, we went to find dinner at Station 2. Station 2 is really like a party beach that there are so many loud speaker and fire show. We had the dinner at the Bamboo shore that it was the most expensive dinner that we had spend but worth it.
Fried squid and shrimp, PHP265. Nice!

Grilled Tilapia, PHP265. Too bony.
