There are two ways to go to Jiufen from Taipei.
1. Take long journey bus from ZhongXiao Fuxing MRT station which can reach Jiufen Old Street.
2. Take train at Taipei Main Station to Ruifan Station and take bus (788,856) to Jiufen Old Street.
We took the 2nd options as it is much cheaper. Train to Ruifan +Bus = TWD49 + TWD15

Next Station : 金瓜石 JinGuaShih. Took 1062,788 or 856 bus from Jiufen Old Street.
We didn't enter as it is almost the closing time. It seem like a big park rather than just a building museum. |
Next : Golden Waterfall. We tried to wait for the bus. When one 788 reach, it only stop until JinGuaShih. For the golden waterfall need to wait other bus. So we decided to walk for 2km. But we saw another bus (856) when walked half way >.<
We took shortcut route that is like a hiking trail and we saw this unique bridge, Aquaduct bridge. |
Walking can enjoy different scenery. |
Feel quite dangerous when walking here, as the mountain is very steep and the rock on the mountain look like almost falling. |
Finally reach the Golden Waterfall! |
Since now is not the raining season, there is no much water on this waterfall. Hence, the view is not that nice.
This is called 金刚石 JinGangShi or king kong hill. |
Next : 鸳鸯海 YuanYang Sea. Continued walk down as not far from the golden waterfall which is just around 1km.
The frame on the bridge is corroded. |
The view at here is nicer. |

Rock is covered with golden color. |
Reached the YuanYang Sea but cannot see the two different color as the wave is quite fierce today. |
When we just reached this sea, there was a 856 bus leaving. After that, we just knew that we need to wait another one hour for the next bus. There is no other choice, it is only Bus no. 856 coming here and towards the Ruifang station.
Waiting the bus. |
Last bus from the station is 5:15pm which reach this station, ShuiNanDong around 5:55pm. |
However, while waiting for that bus, we saw another bus no. 886 coming which written RuiFang station. We're so happy that we get on it after we asked for direction. But the driver look like not so responsive when asked as this look like the last station for him. Maybe he also need to go back to the station. Then we reached Ruifang station with just 10 minutes as the driver drove along the coast line which not going through Jiufen there.
Next: RaoHe Night Market. Took the train from Ruifang station and get off at SongShan station. The night market is near to the station.
