New Zealand Road Trip 3 - To Aoraki Mount Cook Village : Church of the Good Shephard, Lake Pukaki Salmon, Hooker Valley Track and White Horse Hill Campsite

Wake up around 7am. The wind so big that I am so cold when the wind blow on me. Hence we just simply eat at breakfast bar and then leave the campsite.

First we went to the Church of the Good Shephard to take some photos. The view of the Lake Tekapo at that area is so nice and hence we took a lot of photos.
Reached before the gate open, nobody there.

Back to the church and there was lot of people. I managed to take a photo without any people inside.

Around 9:30am, we went back to the Mount John Guardhouse to find and ask her phone. But still unable to find. Then we give up.

After that, we went to Foursquare to buy some grocery for the next few days while meet the friend who working holiday here. Then we had our late breakfast with jam sandwich.

At 11am, we depart to Lake Pukaki which took around an hour journey time. When we reach the Alpine Salmon, there only sold 500g Sashimi Salmon which is too much for both of us.  Then we just have sandwich with tuna in the car as it is raining outside. After think for a while and search for the method to cook meal salmon, we decided to buy the 200g hot smoke salmon which cost $15 for our dinner later. The hot smoke salmon also can be eaten directly as it is cooked.

Then we depart to the White Horse Hill Campsite where we stay for a night and start for the Hooker Valley Track. The view along the Lake Pukaki is quite nice but it become cloudy and foggy when we reach the Aoraki. When we reach the White Horse Campground, it is raining.

Then we prepare the thing for the hiking later. We started the hike at 3:30pm, the view along the track is quite amazing. It took us around 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the Hooker Lake view point. We saw the small iceberg floating on the lake. We also saw the glacier at the mountain sometimes as it is cover by the fog.

After take a lot of photos, we quickly walk back it is too cold and the raincoat also getting wet. After reach the campsite, we saw the car we park have a fast flow river that need to cross to the toilet and kitchen building. The only two way is cross the fast flowing river or the bridge at far away. Then we decided to take the car and cross. Lucky my car is high enough to cross. After get into the Kitchen, I just know that my inner shirt is completely wet and better to change clothes. We cook pasta with carbonara sauce and salmon for that night.

After dinner, we try to get back to the car. As we wearing the raincoat and using the umbrella. It is quite hard to get it off when it rain so heavily and cold. We were shivering at the moment we want to get in to the car. At last we get into the car but got wet the car.

While sleeping, we feel that outside rain heavily and strong wind as the car like moving sideway. It is quite scary.
