After having the jam sandwish as breakfast, we went to the Railway stations as the car park campsite will become casual car park after 8am. The railway look so beautiful and ancient like renaissance style building. We spent there an hour to take photos.

At 9am, we parked our car at Countdown which is near to the Octagon, we went to the Kiwibank to settle hers bank matter first. It doesn’t allow to change the phone number that receive pin to phone number other than New Zealand Number. Then we went to the Noel Leeming to find my camera battery but they didn’t sell it. On the way back, I saw a shop selling video and camera acc. I asked and they got original and a wasabi power brand battery. I bought a wasabi power brand battery which cost NZD38.

At 10am, we visited the St Paul's Cathedral. I am amazed with the building. But the most amazing thing is the organ which is the best and finest in New Zealand. The music played by the organ is nice to listen and feel like wanted to stay long inside. If we had a lot of time, we definitely will be stay in inside.

The first station at Catlins is the Purakanui Waterfall. It took around 2 hours to reach there. It only take 10 minutes walk from the car park to the waterfall. The water flow rate is quite low hence it is not that beautiful.

After the waterfall, we drive back to the direction where we came to the Cannibal Bay. Once the car enter the small road to the Cannibal Bay from the main road, it is rocky, narrow and curvy road. I only drove at around 30-40kmh which is so slow that this 5km road can take around 20 minutes. When we reached the Cannibal Bay, we didn’t see any sea lions as the beach is really huge. But we saw a lot of people walking to the other side of the beach. After I zoomed with my camera, I saw there are sea lions. The distance to walk to that side is around 500m, it is quite hard to see the sea lions with eye as it is very far. When we get close, there are 13 sea lions on the beach. The DOC signboard written that should leave 10 meter distance with the sea lions, but we get near to 5m to take photo with them. They are so huge and quite scary when they get up and roar.
When we almost reach the Cannibal Bay entrance, there were a herd of sheep blocking the way

At 4pm, we drive to Nugget Point which took around an hour time from Cannibal Bay. The scenery after the T junction between Kaka Point and Nugget Point is quite beautiful. After we reached the Nugget Point Car Park, it took around 20 minutes to reach the light house and see the Nuggets on the sea. We managed to see two fur seals from far away.

After that, we went to the Roaring Bay which is not that far from Nugget Point. There is the place to see the yellow-eye penguins. When we reached that viewing point, the DOC people suggest to view from the viewing hike where the penguins will appear. After wait for a while, the DOC call us to come out again, as the penguins appear at the unusual place and it is far from the viewing point. Then we wait until to 7pm to see the others but none appear.

That night we stayed at the Hillview campsite which cost $10 per person. There are kitchen that we could use. Hence, she cook the nice dinner. After dinner, we just stay in the car to blog. The sky also have a lot of star. We may skygazing later but it is so cold outside.
