Today we only have two main activities in
Fox Glacier.
First is the Heli Hike tour at 7:50am.
After having a fast breakfast, we headed to the center. The guide started the
safety brief at 8am. Then we got to change thick socks, leather boots, rain
pants and rain jackets. Then we sit the bus to the place where helicopter
departure. It is so exciting as this is my first time sitting helicopters and
step on the glaciers. We had to follow the instructions carefully. We were
sitting in front hence we have a nice view.

After landing on the glacier, we were given
grampon to wear on the boots. Then we start our hike. We step it carefully for
the first few meters as trying to get the correct technique to hike with
grampon. We see a lot of ice cave, ice arch. We got the chance to go through
the arch. It is a quite amazing experience. The hike is around 2 hours. It is
quite amazing. We wore 3 layers of shirt or jacket and pants, hence, we
didn’t feel quite hot or cold. After the hike, we feel a little bit tire too.

| When going back, i was arranged to sit at the back side. Unable to get nice view photos |
Back to the town, we still thinking what to
do in the afternoon. We planned to skydive but the weather is quite cloudy.
After having the noodle soup lunch at the peak view, We decided to go to the
skydive center to sign for the skydive. At 2pm, we signed to skydive for 13,000
feet. We didn’t wait until 3pm and we were called to skydive as I think that
the best weather to skydive is as soon as possible as the cloud will become
thicker. After change to the jumpsuit and harness, the tandem jumper start to
brief. After planed departed, the tandem guide brief again. When the plane get
higher, we saw the mount cook and southern alps of New Zealand. It is quite
amazing.

| Prepare to skydive |
At the moment is our turn to jump, I just
follow the instruction for the position and look up the sky so that I don’t
scare. Then the jumper jump and flip over and managed to see the plane. This is
the moment that I fear the most. After that, I enjoy the posting the position
of my hand and viewin the scenery. It is quite amazing. At the the time it open
the parachute, the stop of the G-force is quite scary too. Then the jumper play
with parachute go left and right then sudden freefall. I enjoyed viewing the
scenry although there is a bit of cloud. After landing, I feel so good. Then we
sit the bus and go back the skydive center and took our videos.

After that, it is only 3:30pm. We don’t have any activities
then we were just stay in the same campervan park and rest. But I am washing
the car tyre as all is cover with cow poops as I drove it at the road where going
to the peak view point.
Then we were just slowly prepare our dinner
and see the videos and photos.
